Herpes Zoster (shingles) ACYCLOVIR pediatric dosing:
>12 years old 800mg PO 5X/day x 5 to 7 days
<12 years old 30mg/kg/day divided Q8hours x 7 to 10 days

**point of reference: HSV 1st episode dose for age 2 to 12 years old = 400mg PO TID (up to 80mg/kg/day)
Varicella (chicken pox) ACYCLOVIR pediatric dosing:
adults or children >40kg = 800mg PO 4X/day x 5 days
<40kg = 80mg/kg/day divided Q6hours X 5 days
